WOW. This is by far my favorite EP of the summer! The Green is a super dynamic hawaiien-reggae group and they just released their new EP, Love and Affection, this week. It's soooo amazing I bought the whole thing on iTunes. It's like Bob Marley meets Honolulu and then some!! Definately worth checking out!!! It's the perfect music to take to the beach with you! :D
Ed Sheeran was probably the best performance by a new artist, even better than some of the well known artists, on the iTunes festival. The most surprising thing was to see him rock the stage alone with his one mand band. He's totally amazing. This song, I think is my favorite of his, and hereby song of the week!

Blink 182 released it's first new single "Up all night" since almost 10 years ago this month. It's an awesome comeback for blink! I was so excited when I found out, I had to share it with everyone! :) Really looking forward to hearing more from them soon!

It's probably better if you know Spanish if you wanna enjoy the song. You shouldn't let the name of the song fool you either. The lyrics are really fun.
The Summer Set recently released Everything's Fine this July. And if I had to name the best album of the summer so far, it would be this one for sure. I don't think I need to say much more than that it made my week when it came out! You've gotta listen to these guys!

There are days when you need something to pump you up like a jump start cable... and the coffee just doesn't cut it. So I put together a list of the most motivating songs I could find to help kick your life up a notch, whether it's to help you run a marathon or just get through your day.
By the time you listen to the whole list, you'll probably feel like your life is a movie and you're the hero! It was pretty tempting to add Rocky's "Eye of the Tiger" to this list, but I figured everyone already knows that one. :)
9. Never Say Never - Justin Bieber ft. Jaden Smith (somebody probably wants to kick my butt for putting a JB song on this list, but the truth is the words to this song are really motivating, can't lie.)
Hard core.. Demi Lovato is back!! And stronger than ever. With the Camp Rock 2 tour and rehab, Demi had been MIA for a while now, but her new single "Skyscraper" has definitely made up for it. Skyscraper hit iTunes last night at 12:00 midnight and was already #7 within a matter of hours.
Demi tweeted yesterday, "This isn't just a single or a song to me.. This represents the strength of an incredibly difficult journey I've been on that will hopefully provide the faith and inspiration to others going through the hardest issues of their own."
I think there's so much in store for this girl in the future, especially with talk of her recording tracks with Timbaland. But really the thing that makes Demi stand out is her strength and perseverance through all the hard things she's gone through recently. Her fans definitely recognize that.
Two big albums were released this week on iTunes: We the Kings "Sunshine State of Mind" and Lloyd "King of Hearts". And there's some cool stuff coming soon. 3 Doors Down album comes out July 19 and Gavin Degraw in September! Can't wait!
Anyway, I finally got the chance to listen through the songs. My favorite tracks? The Secret to New York from We the Kings and You II from Lloyd.
Coldplay, one of the most epic bands of all time, definately on my top 3 list as well. I think you'll find I'll be blogging about them quite often. They played in Bilbao, Spain last thursday, and will be playing the iTunes festival London 2011 on July 22 at 10:30 (make sure u watch em!) and there's been so much talk of Coldplay that I haven't been able to get this song out of my head.
So, weekdays can get pretty stressful. Especially if you need to work during the summer while everyone is at the beach just lying lazily, and there's the sun constantly reminding you. Days like this I just have to switch on my ipod to James Morrison and take a breather.
Wow. What can I say? I was really blown away by this song the first time I heard it. British band Castelle from Southampton recently posted the official video for their awesome single "Mayday". All I could say is if you feel like jumping or running around going crazy, now that it's summer and all, this song definately pumps up the atmosphere. see for yourself!
I like the idea of posting an awesome song every week. So this week it's the remkake of Jean Jacques Goldman's "À Nos Actes Manqués" by M. Pokora. This new version is really fresh. It has summer written all over it, plus the video is really cute. :) bissous!
Orange RockCorps (UK) gives some pretty awesome concerts that are uniquely exclusive. But the tickets don't cost money. Hey, I know what you're thinking. Theres gotta be a catch right? Well, all you have to do is give 4 hours of community service in your community and they give you a ticket! Sound alright? What if I mentioned this years artists include Diddy Dirty Money and Jessie J? If only I lived in the UK...
I love finding music that's unique. That no one knows of. Most of all, I love songs with lyrics that make you smile and have bittersweet melodies. Ron Pope did just that today. I was poking my nose around on the Ourstage radio app and found his music. He kind of reminded me of James Morrison and the Fray. My personal fave song? This is it :)
We all remember Simple Plan. They rocked our CD players with songs like "I'd do anything" and "Untitled" back in the 2000's. Well they're back and sounding fresher than ever with their new album "Get Your Heart On. Their new single "Jet Lag" feat. Natasha Beddingfield is amazing, but my personal fave is the half-french version they recorded with Marie-Mai. It's Simple Plan like we've never heard them before. Check it out for yourself:
Live concerts, and free?!! Yep, Itunes is offering all throughout the month of July free live concerts with the Festival London 2011 App. Famous artists like Coldplay, ADELE, Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, and Linkin Park are going to be participating. Wow, almost sounds too good to be true. Could it be that apple is starting to revolutionize the way we know concerts? I don't know if it will ever compare to the live experience, but it does seem pretty cool to have a live concert at home every night of July.
I think we should take advantage of this while it's free!
I hope that the blog for you has finally come to a beginning. I've wanted to create an awesome music blog for quite some time now, a blog where musicians and music enthusiasts can feel at home. Music is something that unites us. We all love it, even though we may have very different tastes in it. And at the end of the day, it motivates us, touches us, relaxes us, warms our hearts, or hardens them...a lot of different styles like said. lol but the point I'm getting to is that music is essentially human emotion expressed in song. And we should all have someplace to feel comfortable in, right? This blog will hopefully bring you that ease and fresh comfort you need from music. Welcome to Music Room!
